Amiruddin Abdul Shukor

Architect of Malaysia’s startup and innovation ecosystem. Operates at the intersection of capital, policy, and execution.

About

Amiruddin brings over two decades of leadership across capital markets, government, and innovation infrastructure. A Chartered Accountant with deep grounding in finance, corporate strategy, and investment, he has operated at the highest levels of both regulatory and venture ecosystems.

He played a central role in shaping Malaysia’s startup landscape. As Acting CEO of MaGIC, he led one of the country’s most influential innovation institutions, driving national level entrepreneurship development, ecosystem design, and commercialization programs. His leadership extended beyond operations into policy, positioning MaGIC as a regional thought leader in startups and social enterprise development.

At MDEC, he oversees corporate services across finance, risk, legal, and strategic operations, managing large scale national funds and enabling digital economy growth at a systemic level. His work sits at the core of how capital is deployed, governed, and scaled within Malaysia’s innovation economy.

Earlier in his career, he operated within capital markets and investment banking, including roles at the Securities Commission and MIDF Amanah Investment Bank, where he led and evaluated complex transactions across IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, and large-scale restructuring exercises. His exposure includes some of the most significant corporate transactions within Malaysia’s financial ecosystem.

He also serves on multiple boards and advisory bodies, including Pelaburan MARA Berhad, where he chairs the Audit and Risk Committee, reinforcing governance, accountability, and institutional discipline at scale.

Beyond institutional roles, Amiruddin is deeply embedded in ecosystem development, mentoring startups, advising venture platforms, and contributing to national entrepreneurship and talent development initiatives. His work consistently bridges founders, capital, and policy, enabling ecosystems to function as cohesive systems rather than fragmented efforts.

At IAP, he anchors Malaysia as a strategic platform, ensuring alignment across government, capital, and venture execution, and enabling companies to scale within structured, high trust environments.

He does not just support ecosystems. He builds the systems that make them work.
